New, have been 'lurking' around the forums this weekend
First off, I'd like to thank all members of this site! This weekend I've found not only all the information that I've been looking ALL over for, but I've found so much more that will help me down the road, all within a search and/or click of a button.
I'm new to snake keeping, but not reptile keeping. Honestly, this may sound foolish, but I use to be quite afraid of snakes until I asked myself one day, why a snake? That's when I realized it's just a creature like any other and how you ultimately treat it will end up in it's response to you. I guess I've feared the bite, but I've taken bigger bites from larger breeds of dogs, birds, other reptiles. The worst bite I've ever had, I would chalk up to a cat, the biting and scratching they do is crazy (to me at least).
Anyway to the point, after much research the first thing I did was build an enclosure, which is a 32 QT tub, I created to hides from a set of 3 smaller plastic bowls from the dollar store, using the third as a water dish.
I invested in an under the tank heater (since my old lighting isn't really applicable here) and the infamous thermostat. I'm using newspaper as the substrate. Of course I have the temp and humidity gauges.
Everything is set up for my c.b. baby ball python which should on the way and here NLT Friday. I'm looking forward to the challenges and rewarding experiences that come with ball python husbandry.
I would again like to thank everyone for the vast amounts of information on this site. I'm still finding all kinds of good information!

Welcome! Since i've been here, I haven't left. As you already know, just about any question you have, you can either find the answer, or get the answer from someone.

Welcome to BPNet! I'm glad you're finding the site both informative and helpful. If you need any help in navigating the site or have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact a staff member for assistance (Admins are in red, Mods are in green).
We'd love to see pictures of your new snake when it arrives. It certainly sounds like you've got a very nice enclosure all set up and that's great to see. Always a good start for the snake to come into a home where the owner has planned ahead a bit.

Welcome to the forum! I love this place, I've been around a few forums on the net and this is by far the best herp community I've found.
And btw, good for you for getting everything set up properly before bringing your new baby home. So many people just bring them home on a whim without any idea of what to do and then go running for help when things go wrong. Kudos for being a responsible snake parent!
