    Re: Help!

Put neosporin (the stuff w/o painkillers) on the wound.

    Re: Help!

How bad is the "open wound"? Is it dripping blood? Can you see a gaping hole? Or a red area where a scale was maybe torn off? Or a little puncture wound?

You probably don't have to do anything, unless the snake is kept in unclean conditions, in which case filth could get into the wound.

If (as I suspect is most likely) it's just a little nip or puncture, giving it a wash with clean water and perhaps a dab of triple-antibiotic ointment (without pain meds in it) should be fine.

If it's more serious and an open, gaping hole...you might want to get a vet to take a look.

not a gapign hole it ate about 1/4 of pinky toe of scales. liek its red, but the scales are gone.

u see a lil red spot where the sclaes have been eaten off. and on the newspaper u see a TINY bit of blood.

Sounds harmless to me. Just make sure the cage is clean...and if it makes you feel better, you can put some neosporin on it.
