    New Incubator

I built a new incubator over the weekend. It's a 120qt Igloo controlled with a Herpstat and flexwatt, with two - 12v fans to circulate the air/heat. I originall set it up with a forced air heater, but it got too hot too quick, and seemed like a waste of energy (1500w vs 70w). It has two viewing windows and interior viewing lights with an on/off switch on the outside. The thermostat is embedded in the front of the cooler for a perfect fit. It can hold 8 - 6qt egg boxes. I'm really happy with how it turned out.

Thanks! You can't see in the pictures, but I wired in a 3-outlet female plug. the transformer is plugged into that so I can unplug the fans if I want, and I can plug 2 things into the incubator itself. It was nice while I was making it and didn't have anywhere to plug my glue gun in.

Very nice Jake! Those coolers are MONSTER big! I was going to go that route too, until Justin Kobylka was kind enough to offer his fridge one for me to buy instead!

Thanks, Robin. It is a monster. I needed something bigger than my wine cooler fridge since I might have more than 4 clutches this year. I'm making a smaller one from an Igloo that will hold 4 clutches for a guy in Missouri tonight. If it goes good I'll post some pictures tomorrow. I read about your pickup from Justin. That was nice of him. He's definitely a helpful guy.

Thanks. Every incubator needs windows! If it doesn't have a viewing window it's just a box, imho.
