Don't get me wrong, pastels are nice looking, but I don't see enough difference between them and a normal to justify the cost.

Of course, I could totally be missing something....

Sometimes you'll see a normal that is almost pastel, but usually not (in my experience!) Pastels are screamingly different than normals!! You ought to check them out in person, but here's my lemon pastel from NERD:

Here's my pastel het hypo from TSK:

    Here's my pastel from 8Ball:

And for perspective, here's my normals:

So, check 'em out in 'real life' and fall in love.....!

Don't let those brown baby pastels throw you off, a good pastel is worth it's weight in gold to me. The high blushing, the yellow that wont brown, just awesome.

I'm currently looking for a female, but I'm hoping for one just like Winston, (rabernets). He is a great pastel, and something to shoot for looks wise.

Many pastel were just bred and bred, with no selectiveness. I've seen some UGLY pastels lately. I saw one guy with a "NERD" Lemon line pastel... didnt even look like a pastel. Ugly little thing.

A good pastel is bright, no browning, nice blushing on the back, often a crazy pattern, green eyes, purple(y) head and a clear belly.

This is my male, he has browned considerably, but I like the contrast of the picture.

    I dunno - I don't think Winston looks anything like a normal!
