    Maryland

Anyone live in MD that would have any good suggestions for me to look at to move to. I went down to Prince frederick a couple of years ago and loved it, and ever since then I've always wanted to live there. Plus a lot longer summers than in NH.

If you know of a place in MD with a kick ass Fire Department that would be a bonus. I'm not one yet but it's in my near future as soon as I find out where I'm going to live. I am getting my associates in Business Administration very soon also which is sweet to get school over for now.

My dad just retired after 32 years in the Montgomery County, MD Fire Department. That's gotta say something good about their system.

    Re: Maryland

I guess I should expound upon that. He did live in Montgomery County for awhile, but later moved to Prince George's County residentially. All in all, the traffic in that area is UGLY!!! Many people live at least an hour away and commute to their jobs, some up to 3 hours and are living in Pennsylvania and West Virginia. But as a Fireman, you only commute a couple days a week so it may not be a big concern for you. If there any specific questions you'd like me to ask him just let me know.

Wow, I know this post is late but. . .I lived in MD for ~15 years. Landover, MD. I hhhaaattttteeddd it. Terrible area in my opinion, way too crowded. Anywhere out of PG county. My parents now live in Bowie and I think it's sorta alright. The Chantilly, VA area is nicer. Or if you really want MD move somewhere on the other side of the chesapeake.

I know its late but stay away from Anne Arundel County! I hate every moment of it. Its crowded and slowly becomming Baltimore City.

If your interested in long summers come to FL, where it is always summer. Although coming from NH it might be a huge culture shock.

    Re: Maryland

What about TX? Sure beats MD.

Believe it or not my parents are like "So son, when are you moving back to MD?"

Ha! Me and the wife love it down here and now my best friend, a police officer in Laurel has decided he's had enough and wants to move down here. Yup.

I lived in Prince Frederick for 20 yrs it was great...THEN... now it is all grown and over run with traffic and the prices of things is off the chart. Property tax is outragous . So glad to be in east TN.

Also dont go with the thought of being a paid Prince Frederick fire fighter.....good luck....
