Questions about "The Incredibles"...??
There have been some questions about "The Incredibles"...I don't know all the answers yet...but just wanted to share what I know so far...
Questions about The Incredibles.
Thanks again.
I am not much of a writer, but I will try and explain what has been happening. People have been noticing that The Incredibles have become a very noticeable Hypo in the boa world, and I am very thankful to be working with these animals.
This project is one that I stumbled into....I was lucky to see a difference right from the start and held back most of the original animals...That was a very big undertaking for my family as well....the added costs were very high for us. To top that off, I later had a back injury at work and have not recovered enough to work a normal job, so I am glad to be working with boas.
I bred the original male to 3 different females, all basically normal to me....except that the coloring of one of the females was much lighter and she just had a different look.
Well, as it turned out, the lighter looking female had an unbelievable litter! The babies just litterally glowed! There were a few in the other 2 litters that actually had the same look to them...but for the most part the rest of those other 2 litters looked normal. One of the other darker Mom’s had this very light lavender colored one, and I thought that it was a ghost but I was told it was just a different colored hypo....
I then started noticing the color changes of the babies....they were turning this electrified look....
The Reds, Yellows, and purples just glowed in them.
I was later very anxious to breed back to Mom, to see what was going on but I never had the chance.
I used the same Dad hypo and bred the Mom 3 times. The 3rd time we had a power failure and she was a couple weeks too early and started delivering.
I think she was depleted of too much bone mass from those breedings and her feeding aggression hurt her when she struck a rabbit and the weight bent her and broke her back. I tried to nurse her back but it was too much for us both so I put her down.
I have a very good idea now what is going on, but it is still way to early to tell people the rest of the story. For now, if people like them they like them because they are totally amazingly high colored hypos that can make the rest of their projects look even better!
That is why I named them “The Incredibles” !!!
Please keep in mind these are ....F 1’s !!!!!

Normals???

F 1 ???

Normal Hypo??

Now a Normal Comparison ...

One final understanding I have is that the melanin in these F1’s has been greatly interrupted. So whatever Gene is responsible for this...that is what I am after.
Thanks for looking!
