    Exclamation Need help with angry baby ball python

    i just bought a baby ball python but it strikes at everything that moves. what can i do to calm it down?

    He/she is probably just stressed from the move and the new people. Get it set up in its new home and leave it alone for a week. Let it get comfortable with its surroundings.

    Like the previous poster said, leave it alone for about a week. Also make sure its temps and humidity are "spot on" and that it has two hides, one for each area (hot and normal) in the tank.

    How big is your tank? Snakes, particularly balls like small, tight spaces. If you have a huge tank (for the size of the snake) put in lots of balled up newspaper (color free, non-gloss pages only) to take up some space so the snake won't feel quite as overwhelmed.

    In general you just need to give it some time. If after a week it is still acting like that try letting it be for another week. I once had a boa that I couldn't touch without it going nuts. It took me almost 6 months before that snake would let me handle it.

    i have a 10 gallon take with 2 hides and some stuff to climb on. its temp is 80-90 on the warm side and mid 70's on the other. it also has a water bowl big enough to fit in. what should its humidity be at?

    Humidity : 50-60%
    During Shed bump it to 70%
