Modular rack question.

Ive heard that with modular racks such as Freedom breeders/ARS caging you need to have a temperature deticated room/building for them to heat properly. I currently have a full AP rack, and Im hoping my collection grows (with my wifes permission

Ive thought about it and come to the conclusion that the very expensive modular racks and the way to go if you plan on breeding BP's long term. But for a good while this will be a hobby that will take place in my air conditioned home, I dont have the room to deticate a room for my BP's so the temps in the house range from 72-75 degrees and I heard that this would be a problem with those style racks.

I figured instead of buying more plastic racks that I would buy a couple levels of ARS or FB at a time.

the ap.com racks work fine and theya re less expensive, they just look as cool!

You are correct...the Freedom and ARS (or any open sided rack system) needs to have a heated room as they don't have anything to really hold the heat near the tub. In an AC home I would suggest a plastic rack system (or home built one) just something where all sides of the tub are enclosed as it will hold the heat much better.

I have an ARS rack and love it...but when I first got it (AC home) it never could get the tub temps stable (it fluctuated with the house temp). So I built another rack and stored my ARS one...now I have a heated room and use both racks.
