    Having a bearded shipped

I was browsing some ads on Kingsnake today and was wondering about shipping bearded dragons. What is the best way to ship a bearded dragon? Can they be shipped across country and be fine when arriving? Also how old should a BD be before it is sold and shipped?

    Thank you!!

Shipping beardies is very safe,Ive had two beardies shipped to me without a problem.

Beardies should be at least 7 inches long before being sent to the buyer.

Come here little guy. You're awfully cute and fluffy but unfortunately for you, you're made of meat

    Re: Having a bearded shipped

I've never tried and it sure makes me nervous! But a lot of people do it.. and i'm sure it's done safely. I would be interested to know exactly how it is done. I was considering ordering one from an online dealer. That really opens up a huge market for breeders.

Two of mine came in separate ways so maybe i can help.

Nugget came in A cardboard box, Styrofoam, newspaper, and then he was in a snake bag but it was thinner.

Mango came in the kind of box, then packing peanuts, and then in a deli cup.

    Re: Having a bearded shipped

    Thanks for the responses.

I haven't had very much experience at all in having animals shipped. Only one ball python so far and it was sent from Georgia, which is relatively close.

At the time I posted this, I was concerned since it almost seems like all the dragon breeders I came across are on the west coast. But I have since found a breeder that is highly reputable on this site (Thanks Again Raul!!) and read up more on shipping on other dragon forums and now I feel much more comfortable in having one shipped to me from across the country.

Beardedragon, I love the names, Nugget and Mango, very cute!!!
