Some of you may have read my thread on the pet store with all of the snakes in one enclosure. Well I went back and bought one of the ATB's. I couldn't let this beautiful animal suffer anymore. I made a big deal about how they keep the reptiles too. The place is just a wreck. The snake was 60$. So I went for it. When I got him home he struck at me several times. He is crazy fast. Kinda scared me. He seems to have settled down though. I hope I did the right thing. I knew what I was getting myself into. But I couldn't walk out with a Berm or a Retic. They get too big and we just sold our Berm female to a reptile store in Arizona.

You just funded them to get more snakes and keep them the same way, since it's worked before.
Sorry, I know you feel sorry for the animals, but by buying a snake from them, you just supported them and how they keep the animals in sub-par conditions.
Your heart is in the right place, but your wallet just supported the wrong thing.

Its ridiculous you paid that price for an under cared for animal and supported them. It just proves to the pet store, no matter what condition the animals are in people will buy them. In a week there will be another sickly one to replace the problem you just aquired.

You might wish you got a Burm or Retic once that Amazon nails you a few times. Pissiest snakes I've ever seen.

So far as it being the right decision, I understand the impulse pity buy thing, but all you really did was make room for another snake to suffer. And put $60+ in their pockets.

I agree with the others, don't support bad pet stores. It's their loss when the animal dies, and when you buy more, they can get more to abuse....

I understand what everybody has been saying and I just wrote a letter to the county that the store was in.
