    I Lost My Baby

I came home this afternoon after being gone overnight, and when I went to Nico's (my BP) tank to check on her, she was gone! The lid of the tank was in its right place, as well as her light, and I am so scared. She is my first BP and she's just a baby! I also have a pet cat, who spends a lot of time watching Nico, and I am scared that something may have happened between the two of them. I live in a relatively small one-bedroom apartment but I have looked everywhere. Any suggestions because I am freaking out!

    Thanks

think small... if its a baby... very very small. Look high and low. I had a snake escape and I found it 3 shelves up a bookcase curled up in a magazine holder. Right now he/she is gonna be sleeping getting ready to come out. In a couple hours theyll prolly be on the move so thats your best time to look... cant stress it enough... very very very small... Be calm and good luck.

I didnt shut one of my tubs all the way and one escaped, i looked EVERYWHERE. Turns out she was beside our mouse tank, sideways in a one and a half inch gap. They love to hide. In most cases though they are withen the sam room, they do not seem to go far a good bit of the time unless they have had ALOT of time to move.

Come here little guy. You're awfully cute and fluffy but unfortunately for you, you're made of meat

Is the cat ok? I hope the cat didn't get to her!

Others have suggested to dust the floor with flour so that when they are on the move, they will leave a trail that will lead you to them. I hope you find her safe and sound soon.

Do a search on escape here on the forum and you will find a bunch of useful tips from the flour trick to baiting them with a live feeder to who else knows what.

If you have a cat, chances are the cat will know where the snake is well before you do. Keep an eye on the cat's behavior and if it seems particularly interested in one spot, like it's waiting for something to come out...chances are your little bp is under/behind whatever the cat is keeping watch of.

We always know if a gecko or lizard got in the house because our cat will stare and lie in wait for it to come out from underneath the couch or wherever it's hiding.

I agree... Your best bet is to stalk the cat tonight.

    Re: I Lost My Baby

good luck. I have agree watch the cat but also look behind books, records and any tight places you know they won't fit, and I would look lower then her cage. When mine excape they usually go beind my records and every time I see them there I SWARE there is no way they would fit. So since your little one is small she could be in the oddest places. They will seek heat but don't count on it. Put a very small box with a heating pad under in a tight quiet place very close to where she got out and she might go into it. Don't give up these guys/girls have a talent of not only getting out but staying alive after they get out.

    Good luck
