    Re: plants

I dont use plants in my ball cages- way to hard to keep clean and the balls don't care about such nonsense!! If you would like to look at them, I would suggest plastic plants that you can easily clean!
    Hope this helps, McKinsey

    Re: plants

if you want live plants get live plants, there are tons of resources to see what's safe and what's not. Do a search for reptile safe plants or something. I don't keep live plants with my snakes, just the lizards and frogs, but there's no reason not to if you want them there.

true, but if you use something like pothos it probably won't matter because it's cheap, and the snakes may sit between the stems and end up not trampling it. The only snakes I've had in natural terraria are small north american snakes, i.e. garters and green snakes. But if you find something that works for you, do it.

    Re: plants

I don't like to put anything in my cages that is and/or was living at one point. I use plastic hides and newspaper substrate.

Plants are just another reason for bugs to find your cage. Plus, they are going to get rolled over and crushed by the snake.

Also, to set your plants up your going to need to use a substrate of some kind and when you do full cage cleans the plants are going to need to be uprooted and replanted over and over. Watering of the plants will be needed to keep the plants living.

All this boils down to, plants, wood/dirt substrate, watering of plants, equals more possibility of bugs, mold and way to much clean up.

If you want plants get plastic ones.

    Just my 2 pennies.
