    HI, new here

    Hi, new to the forum and getting a ball python this coming weekend!

    Already got the tank setup and monitoring the temps and humidity so i have a few days to play around with the set up if needed
    I have been reading the forums for a week or so now and one question just keeps coming to mind...(i'm a noob )....
    What does Het mean? lol i have tried to figure it out and wasnt able to lol.

    Looking forward to more reading of this forum, some really good info here and some awesome looking snakes too hehe

    Welcome!

    Het is Heterozygous, meaning it carries a trait.
    Homo is Homozygous, meaning it shows that trait.

    Albino, is a good example..

    a Homozygous Albino is white and yellow...
    a Heterozygous albino means it appears normal, but carries the gene to produce Albinos.
