    Aluminum tape?

Hey.. I ordered all my 4x2 cages from RBI with Ultratherm heat pads, and I need some extra aluminum tape to get them hooked up/have extra for if I need to move the pads. I've seen aluminum tape at Lowes before, but I never bought any because I don't know what kind is okay to use. I have 3 more of these cages coming in the mail so I want to get my tape fast so I can set the cages up when they get here.

Does anyone have a particular brand they know is safe to use? And can it be bought at a store like Lowes or Home Depot?

    Thanks for any help!

I got a roll at Walmart that worked perfectly. Can't remember the brand name off hand, but I think it was the only ind they had there.

Any aluminum tape will be fine, like 2 inches wide at least.

I don't think that electrical tape will work. When it gets warm the "glue" tends to disintegrate.

I love aluminum tape for all kinds of things. It sticks to just about everything yet is easy to remove when you need to do so.

    Re: Aluminum tape?

Hey thanks for the replies guys.. it looks like they have "foil tape" at Lowes when I looked online, is this the same thing?

Theres the stuff they have there, would any of those tapes work? Would any type of aluminum or foil tape work? I just want to make sure I don't burn the house down or ruin any of my heat pads/cages.

Yep, this is the stuff I use and have had no issues with it at all. I've used it to stick the flexwatt in my rack, to put flexwatt in my incubator, to hold thermostat probes down and to attach some screen to a wood enclosure. I love the stuff

Thanks a lot, I'll put that on my list of things to get when I make it down to Lowes next week.
