    If it doesn't say anywhere on the unit, I would go by two things. First would be weight. No compressor means less weight. The second would be if you can hear a compressor running. Also a compressor produces vibration which is why Thermo Electric is considered better for wine. The only moving part is the fan. I read a post last year on K.S. about someone who ran this set up and they said it worked great. Keep at it and good luck.

    Well I found out how to do it, but I realized I have the wrong machine. My cooler has a compressor. I am on the lookout for a thermo electric wine cooler.

    If you already have a cooler you might as well just wire up some flexwatt. It's just as easy and it will only cost you maybe $20-30 depending on the size of your cooler.
