    Re: Bro-in-law's bp went "home"....

I might try that. I always gave her long enough. She just sees it and when it gets close she curls up. Real tight into the corner hiding her head.

    Thanks for the replies man

No problem, good luck with the feeding.

    Re: Bro-in-law's bp went "home"....

Holy bump for some potential good news....

We were out having dinner with most of the family the other night, and my bro-in-law mentioned that he may decide to sell his snake. I asked how much he wanted, and why, and he said his wife (my wife's sis) has too many animals as it is. He also mentioned something about it being too much work (I did lay a bunch of info on him when he picked it up last saturday).

Anyway, as we were leaving, he said if I wanted it, let him know, and I said that I did and to figure out how much he wanted. He never gave me a price, so I'm guessing he's either going to just give it back, or won't ask too much. If he gives me a high price, I'll bring up that I did feed it for several months, etc....

Bottom line, I'm hoping it makes it's way back. Wish me luck

Mine wouldn't eat his first meal for the first 5 minutes. As soon as I turned the lights off, he ate it immediatly. Maybe he was just uncomfortable.

I learned the same thing with the lights early on with him. He'd fed just fine in the same enclosure, but he started shedding very soon after that. I'm guessing it had something to do with that.

    Re: Bro-in-law's bp went "home"....

I just got off the phone with my bro-in-law, and I'm getting the snake back for certain! We haven't worked out a price yet or anything, but he said he'd bring it over and we'd take care of all that later. I can understand him not wanting to just give it away, as they paid the rip-off pet store price (~ $80), but he said he wouldn't ask me anything near that. I'm thinking I may offer somewhere around $50.

So, I'm gonna go out and buy another identical tub setup to what I have for the other snake, and get to work building them a small rack.

Now, if I can convince my wife to let me start breeding mice

I'm really excited about getting him back. After all the trouble of trying to get his glass enclosures to work, I'm looking forward to tossing him into a tub and watching him thrive.

Hey, where in Ohio are you?
