Bro-in-law's bp went "home"....
The snake that brought me to this forum just left. My bro-in-law finally made it over to pick him up. Hopefully, he was actually listening to some of the tips I gave him, coz I'm gonna be really pissed if I find out the snake died before too long. I put a lot of time and effort into getting it housed more appropriately, the temps & humidity right, etc... for him to take crappy care like he was before.
Anyway, I just wanted to say something, because as I'm sure you guys realize, most others don't share the concern for a snake

That sucks. Do you plan to get another snake now?

I still have the one in my avatar. I got him when I found out they were going to take the other back.

Hopefully he was listening to you.
Good thing you got that guy from Heather. Hopefully it'll help ease the pain from losing the other.
On a side note. My girl I got from her I pm'd you about. Just refused a meal. That's no fun. Is your guy still eating for you?

It is too bad you couldn't keep him. I really do hope your BIL has learned and will take proper care of the snake from now on.
Your snake is beautiful and I'm sure you'll enjoy him.

Man, that sucks.... I can't imagine a snake having a better eating response than the one I got from her. I think I'm gonna go with mice for him (the local pet stores are very unreliable for small rats), and he took 3 of them on wednesday, no problem.

I like this snake very much He's friendly as could be.
In the back of my head, I'm really hoping that since they can't have the snake it a big, fancy tank, and there's more work to it than they thought, they'll decide it's too much trouble and he'll make his way back here.
Oh, when they first brought the snake over, I was warned that it always peed on him when he picked it up. I handled that snake probably 40 or 50 times, and never once did that happen. When they came to get it today, I put the snake in a pillowcase and handed it to him so I could go get the insulated box. Not 10 seconds later, he's yelling about needing a new pillowcase.
Guess why?

Is that what you tried the last feedings? Mice?
She was hesitant last time but ate. Long story.
This time I knew shed be finiky like last time so I got some ASF's. Wanted nothing to do with it.
I tried a regular rat real quick and still nothing. So she's gonna have to wait a week.

First time was a small rat. Second time (a few days ago) was 3 mice. I had the mice here, and the pet stores were out of rats, so I tried them, and he was quite agreeable.

Hmmm.... the smaller bp, the one that just went home, seemed kind of apprehensive when he'd fed recently. He'd get nose to nose with the mouse, go back in his hide, and keep doing that.
Several times, I pulled the mouse, but the last few, I decided to see what happened if I left it for longer, and he always ended up eating if I gave him maybe 10 minutes.
