Im intrested in a Hogg or two.

Hey everyone! I am intrested in getting a hogg island boa, and was woundering if yall could help me out!

What breeders produce the most lightest or brightest orange hoggs out there? What are some good websites to look at there care, etc. Are they a good boa species to keep as a first boa? I am only looking for something nice, maybe breed in the future. Hope yall can help me out!

P.S. Jamie your hogg is one of he best I have seen, where did you get him from?

Well, I have two.. I got one locally, and the other I got at the Chicago NARBC show from: http://www.constrictorsandassociates.com/homepage.html. I'm really picky about hog island boas.. most of them out there are very dull looking to me. I only like the high orange ones; which both of mine are.

They're easy keepers.. eat like pigs. They're pretty well tempered, but a little more high strung than Colombian BCI.

Diva, my female that I got locally:

Calisto, who I got from Constrictors and Associates:

Agreed! Thous are stunning Hoggs. Very good choice.

I agree that they can be a little more high strung then a more common BCI. Every one I have had contact with seem to be awesome eaters, pretty tame and a very manageable size.

I have seem some (in my opinion) ugly ones, but I have also seen some real knock outs. Look around and get the one you want.

JNJ Reptiles has some males available: jnjreptiles.com

And you can always check in with Gus at RioBravo... all of his boas are true locality, bred from animals he collected in the wild.

Thats interesting. Did he tell you anything else? I would like to hear more. I didn't know this.

Gus is a great guy. His boas are great looking and of top quality. Plus, he has a wonderful personality to boot.

    Keep us posted.

I saw the longicaudas on there too. How big do they get? Are they same temperment? He didn't tell me anyuthing else, only when he will have them availible, and what there prices will be.
