    Re: Longest Off Feed?

For those who this case is usual,
Have you seen a pattern in the time of the year they do it?
Can you let us know if this is a pattern or they do it random?

I ask because I have a few WC's since November and they hasn't eat yet, the two males where skinny and I decide to assit feed them las week the both ate and last monday I assit them again and they ate with out any problem, now I'm considering do the same with the females. They look in good shape and just has lose and average of 50-75 grams each. I don't know if assit the females too or leave them becasue they are in breeding season and that could be why they are not eating.

Thanks and sorry if I highjack this thread.

    Re: Longest Off Feed?

I got a WC female that I bought after she dropped her eggs - she took a couple of rat pups and then went off feed for 18 months - that whole time she lost around 125 grams.

Other than that I can think of only one that went about a year for no apparent reason - I cold be wrong I haven't always kept the best of feed records - but for the most part 8-9 months is around the max that some of mine have gone off for their winter fast.

I had a male pastel go over 5 months, he was breeding excellent during that time too. Come summer ate like clock work. My others snakes fed normally in same conditions.

    Re: Longest Off Feed?

Mine was a WC that went 13 months. I ended up going out of country for a month and when I came back (outside of water) no one had even opened her tub...so I dropped in a rat and she nabbed it. Continued to leave her alone and she started eating every other week...now she eats weekly and loves to come out and be carried around.

My other is my male pastel who on his first year breeding stop eating for 7 months...(thought he would miss the next season) but then just decided to eat, though picky and on/off...but since breeding season started this year he has never missed a meal now (and is breeding like a champ)...strange

I have a male that took his last meal in decemeber 2006. Shows no interest at all in food, has been drinking, passing urates and shedding normally!
