Well, seeing Letterman scramble was a bit amusing, but the way these two highly esteemed guys went about the whole thing was just ridiculous. Bob sitting there mishandling the snake and generally acting like he didn't know what the heck he was doing, Jack jumping around like a lunatic, and spouting ridiculous facts like "one drop of venom can kill an elephant" and just generally acting like a blithering idiot...

You know, I seem to remember Jack, when talking about Steve Irwin's death, saying something to the effect of "Well I'm sorry for the loss, even if I didn't approve of his methods" (and that is paraphrased, it's been quite a while since I saw the video). That would imply that he doesn't approve of acting all hyper and nutty to entertain...but what he pulled was 10 times worse than anything Steve ever did.

Not to mention lying about it being venomous just to scare people. How any responsible herpetologist could do that, ESPECIALLY in the wake of the current Boa/Python restrictions being proposed...just stupid. The last thing needed right now is more bad public image of snakes.

Plus, Steve would have had the guts to handle an INTACT Cobra, and handle it CORRECTLY, while educating people instead of scaring them.
