I LOVE beige hoodeds. Actualy any hoodeds. I really like the rexes, and wouldn't mind having there blood in my colony, it would be nice to see one pop up every once and awhile! As well as dumbos. I would like to get a blue, but dont know which ones to get, and what they look like.
You sound like you have such a cool colonie Gen! New pics of mama, babies and dad? Por Favor.

Just curious, why no more rexes? Are they genetically weak, or do you just not prefer them? I have two new rex females - one american blue irish and one fawn hooded.

That fawn hooded rex is to die for! Make lots robin! I am curious about why you dont breed rexes too.

Just a quick question...what is a Rex Rat and the difference between them and a regular Rat?

Rexes have a wavy coat, and curlly wiskers! like omsone through them in a dryer to fluff them up!

I like the rexes.. I just seem to be prefering the sleeker, more natural looking ones for some reason. This is personal preference and not in any way am I saying that they are bad blood. I actually think that my rex stud gave my colony a great backbone, and I will still use him as long as he is healthy. But I also like the look of the sleeker normal-haired rats.. it is just me being weird I guess

Robin, it's just personal preference. I like to pet my breeders (they are pets after all) and honestly can't stand the feel of rex coats. The rexes I've had were wonderful breeders, gave me large healthy litters and were sweet rats. I just like my normal coated critters better.

Awesome! Thanks for answering that. So far I'm enjoying my rexes - but I think the goofy dumbos are by far my favorite rats - all the ones I've encountered have had amazing personalities.
