    concerned: stressed or nosey?

I brought home my spider ball and shes in her little bin with the basics.. water bowl, hide, aspen. her temp currently is 89.4 and humidity is 48% (Was a bit higher after i misted bedding) she has been home since last night and with the exception of her hiding out this morning for about 7hrs shes been exploring, moving around, thermo regulating, exc. soooo... shes the only newby doing this, everyone else has settled in and relaxing in their hide. is she just that stressed or is it possible shes very nosey. Today (sunday) is technically her feeding day.

everyone is set up identically, three sides of her bin is covered with black construction paper (the front is open so i can see in) should i just cover up the front also and force her into isolation for a week?

should i be concerned or just let things take their course? I know shes hungry, the breeder said she eats every 10dys give or take and shes due to eat today... should i go ahead and try feeding her or make her relax for a couple days?

is it standard with any new ball to make them relax for a week before expecting (or even offering) them to eat?

    Re: concerned: stressed or nosey?

When we got our bumblebee the breeder told us that spiders and bumblebees (probably due to the spider part of them) are probably two of the more active morphs when it comes to BP's. We fed her about 2 or 3 days after getting her, but if it will take food earlier it doesn't hurt. Just make sure to not leave the food in to long if it does not show interest.

Spiders are generally more curious and out going. Mine is. I wouldn't worry to much yet.

    Re: concerned: stressed or nosey?

I've found that my spider is a mover and shaker too. Although this is the first I've heard that spiders have an tendency to be more outgoing.

As long as she starts eating properly I don't think it should be a cause for concern.

I offered her a mouse and she took it right away ... followed by her going into her hide, my mojo also ate a small mouse. now if i can get the bigger girls to eat i would be in great shape!

    thanks for the help everyone

    Re: concerned: stressed or nosey?

My bumblebee is a right nosey ba*****! His feeding response is strong, and will try to eat anything that is warm and moving (including himself when he missed a rat and coiled and bit himself once!) Even the slightest movement in the tank when changing the water etc, he is out to see whats going on..i do love the spider outgoingness (if thats a word??)

    thats him in my avatar!
