OK, I give, Time for a tub

Ok, after defending my enjoyment of having an aquarium, it's just too much of a pain in the butt to keep temp and humidity at the proper level.

and now that his first shed was a complete flop, and i'm currently soaking him, it's time for a tub.

You'll kick yourself in the face for not doing it sooner.

I have tubs and cages from RBI and I have no problems maintaining temps and humidity in any of them. If you're sold on a cage, get with RBI. If you want a tub, there's several to choose from and I can only vouch for the ones from RBI~ they are really great!

    Ouch!

But so true. Tubs are the way to go. Light, convenient, easy to clean, easy to regulate, etc, etc, etc

You could get an actual snake cage - like Vison or Showcase, etc. and have the best of both worlds.

    Just a thought.

RBI racks all the way. I have had nothing but perfect sheds since I got my RBI rack. And if you think you might get more snakes it would be cheaper to get a rack then to get cages from RBI or whoever you look at.

Re: OK, I give, Time for a tub

Hmm, strange. I can't wait to get my BP OUT of her tub and back into her display cage or tank if the cage isn't fixed. She must be one of those odd snakes, but she does not seem to like her tub as much as she liked her tank. She's more hesitant about eating, she hardly takes her nighttime cruises anymore... let alone the trouble I've had regulating the darn thing! When you open a tank to clean it, the temps do drop, but a few minutes with the lid back on and everything's good to go. With the tub, I take that lid off for even five minutes and I have to wait at least 15 for it to restabalize! And keeping the humidity at the right level was never this hard in my tank.

I don't know, maybe I just have the 'tank touch' and tubs don't like me. They're cheap, light, and take up a lot less space (which is why I have my three new corns in tubs), but man... And now, my corn QT tubs won't balance out... GRR!

So, I know how all you people out there adore those tubs...but I would prefer not to have to mess with them. I'll be glad when I can get Nagini back into her new display cage.
