I should have asked do rats even mess with cuttlebone? Is it good for them? Will it hurt them?

I use cuttlebone for my parrots so its handy.

I was advised to use oster shell powder for calcium, but not able to find them yet, so I am using cuttlebone. I think they are fine.

What are the cheaper options you guys are talking about?

    Tks.

Re: ? For U Rat Breeders

Untreated lumber scraps are great for rat chewies. And free if you know where to look Some lumberyards give away their "ends" for use as firewood.. I would just make sure that they are not treated lumber, and not pine or cedar, or another toxic wood (I think that black cherry and black walnut are bad as well; I would research any type of wood before using.)
