sperm plugs
How do you know if your male is producing them? I know Hazard is still too small for breeding but I was just wondering how do you know when they are ready

Re: sperm plugs
If you pop them like you would to sex them, sperm plugs will pop out if he has any.

Re: sperm plugs
typicaly when you pop them it is unmistakeable. Every animal is different some breed young some don't breed till they are two or three. 12-18 months old and 700 grams or greater is a good place to start, some do go sooner than that but that is in collections of people that know what to look for if their males are getting worn out.

Re: sperm plugs
Is it common to find sperm plugs as a part of stools/urine/urates? I know that this thread is purposely about bp's, but the last time our proven breeder male burm shed, he had a big poo and pee before hand and deposited a sperm plug as well...
0.1 ball python (Cleo), 0.1 surinam bcc (Carmen)
1.0 sunglow motley corn (Jenson), 1.0 albino burmese (Lourdes)
1.0 cat (Nicky), some mooses and ratters, 1.0 hubby (Rick)
