I offer 1 hide to every single BP, some use the hide some don't.

    Re: hides in racks..

Every snake is offered a hide ... I'd rather the hides be there and the snakes not use them than have a snake that needs a hide and doesn't have one.

    Re: hides in racks..

All my snakes are offered 2 hides... 1 for the cool side and 1 for the warm side... I find them in different hides everytime so I'll always offer them.

    Re: hides in racks..

Well I only have two snakes in a three tub rack but both of mine are offered 2. The BP seems to enjoy sitting on top of the warm hide whereas the boa likes the inside of the cooler hide.

    Re: hides in racks..

My snakeshack rack has two hides, each drawer for the balls, but Kishnah the corn doesn't have one. He doesn't use it anymore.

The smaller snakes in the melamine rack I bought used had two, but I've taken the back one out to make more room, and to provide security while they're in the front, cooler end of the tubs.

The 41qts. on the bottom for the two adults, have one hide each, but I'm debating removing them all together, just b/c there isn't room for one at the back (warm) and one cool (front)...the heat is along the long direction of the tub, so I don't think the hides are helping.

    Re: hides in racks..

I only have one hide offered to my baby for now, but I'll give him a seperate hide on each warm/cool side. This morning I found him on the tree, I thought it was adorable.
