    Question 100% het clown F x gen red patt M ?

Are the genetic dudes around today? My question is, would this pairing produce all normals poss dh for clown/gen red pattern? No weird surprises or a genetic red patt clown?

    Thanks to all who respond!

Are you sure the red patterned male is genetic? I'm not familiar with it, so if you can share... that would be more helpful.

If so, you would get 50% het clowns with some gen red pat, depending on the genetics of the Red male...

Yes, he was produced from to proven genetic reduced pattern parents. I've posted him as my avatar for a pic to see. ~*~ Kim

Ahhhh! Reduced... I thought it was a new morph. Genetic Red Red balls would be amazing....

Okay, so if Gen Reduced is recessive, then it would be 50% double hets for reduced pattern and clown.

Thank you Heather. I'm one of those abbreviators for posting on forums. I do it at work to and I drive people crazy. I agree, Red Balls would be awesome!

GRP isnt exactly recessive. NERD says theres is primary. I believe some may be dominant, depends on what line. Its possible you can get 50% GRP 100% het clown. I may be wrong but this is what I understood from my searches.

    West Coast Jungle,
I abbreviate everything (sorry). Red pattern is actually "reduced" pattern and not a "red" (as in color even tho that would be too cool!). Both parents of this pair are proven genetic reduced pattern balls.
I like the answer of my last poster of 50% reduced pattern het for clown outcome. What are your thoughts now that you know it is a reduced pattern and not a red ball???
