    Smile Sam's first complete shed!

Sam is the larger of the two BPs I adopted. I had been keeping them in a high school classroom, but it was too stressy for them and also the air was DRY. I mean bone dry. We're talking Sahara Desert. So I brought them home for good, and they really appear to be thriving in a quieter place. I can also keep better track of temps and humidity at home.

The two have both had a shed or two since I had them, but each time it was in pieces. They'd have bits of old skin stuck to them, and eyecaps too. I'd have to soak them, but it was a problem each time.

Thursday night, Sam shedded, and lo and behold, on Friday morning, there was a complete old skin, eyecaps and all, at the cool end of the enclosure.

These guys are definitely not going back to the school unless it's for a one-day visit.....

Sounds like you're doing a great job! There are some very helpful tips here on this site that have personally saved my sanity with several of my rescued animals!

thanks. I wasn't really sure what I was getting into when I adopted these guys. my wife was really hesitant about having them in the house until she spent some time with them, now she loves them and so do my kids.

Sounds like getting them out of that overly dry classroom has done the trick. They really are engaging, normally gentle snakes and very easy to fall in love with. Congrats on the nice shed!

I think that's been the ticket. Also, I decided that they needed to leave the school when Ted started striking at the side of the enclosure when one of the kids thought it would be cute to have a stare-down contest with him.
