Temps under hides?

I just checked and under the warmer ends hide it's whoopin 125F. There is no way that can be accurate. Outside the hide the ambient is 90 tho. I took he hide out and seems like there is less substrate under the hide so I put more, but its still 99F under there while ambient is 90.

This is why we recomend you set the temps directly on the bottom surface of the tank to around 93-95f then adjust the depth of the substrate till it reads 90-93f inside the hide.

There is no gaurantee that your snake will not decide to burrow down one day and possibly come into contact with higher temps than you planned.

Not to say this is what you did but figured having it in the thread might help others later.
