I saw someone posted a dream about ball pythons and was reminded of my dream about an iguana.

I was driving along on a side road, and all of a sudden an iguana starts off across the road. I didn't see it in time, and slammed on the brakes but it was too late. I get out of the car and make sure the animal is dead, and when I find that it is, I resolve to go to a reputable petstore (funny - I even made sure the store was reputable in my dream.) and buy the first iguana that I saw. A life for a life, y'know? I said I'd raise it up to the best of my ability and make sure it had a happy life.

So I get to the petstore and explain that I'm scared TO DEATH of lizards (which I am) but that I've just killed one and feel I need to make up for it by "saving" another. So the man grabs the closest lizard, sticks it in my hand and says, "hold this. It ain't gonna bite. You'll get over your fear real quick."

After a while of holding the lizard I finally stopped shaking (and was able to open my eyes -lol-) and we put it in a box and I took it home. It was hard to get up the nerve to hold it again once I had it at home, bu somehow I did and after a long time the lizard outgrew it's glass house and became like a dog - free run of the apartment, followed me around, ate out of my hand etc.

It had a happy ending.

I'm just nervous something like that will actually happen. It's just the sort of thing I'd do, (as crazy as it sounds) and sometimes dreams can be premonitions... I don't know if I'm ready to get over my fear of lizards just yet. -lol-
