Won;t eat

I got a ball python about a week ago. They store told me to feed her again on this past Sunday. She did not eat the food offered, I left it in there for 8hrs. I had to leave town Monday so I tried to feed her again on Tuesday. She has still not eaten and the mouse has been in there for 24hrs. Any please would be awesome!

First I do hope we are not talking about a live prey left in the enclosure without supervision for that long!

If your BP does not eat a prey within 20 minutes chances are he will not eat, so if it not eaten just remove the prey and wait another week before offering again.

Most new owners experiencing non-feeding BP, do due to their husbandry.

A new BP need to be left alone with NO handling for a least a week

Once a week has passed you can offer food, same type prey than offered previously, if it is live you need to offer live as your priority is to get your BP eating his first meals before attempting to switch

Now here are some questions for you

How old is your BP?
How big is your BP (weight)?
What type of enclosure do you use?
How big is your enclosure?
Is your enclosure in a low traffic area?
What are your temps (cool & warm side)?
What is your humidity?
What type of thermometer/hygrometer do you use (dial,stick,or digital)?
What kind of hides do you provide (log, homemade, cubbyholes etc) and how many do you have?
Are your hides tight (all side touching your BP's body) and identical?
What type prey did you feed (Rat, Mice and size)?
What type prey was your BP fed previously?
How often have you handled your BP?

If it was in there for 8 hours I'm sure the heat had dissapated. If you warmed the mouse up again and used tongs to maybe jiggle it around then it might help. Or was it a live mouse? If that's the story then it's not the best idea to leave the mouse in there for a long period of time. That's my two cents. I hope it helps. ^_^
