    Adequate Rat group?

I have recently decided to start breeding rats to supply feeders for all my snakes. Right now I have a 1.3 group but only one of females are ready to breed. (I have the other two in a separate tub from the male).

Well my question is what should be the adequate rat group to supply enough feeders at all times?

Here's my group of snakes at the moment, but I am always adding lol

1.1 corns--- Feeding on rat pinks and soon to be on peach fuzzies
.2 balls in the 1000 g range---- feeding on med rats
1.2 balls in the 170-200 g range--- feeding on rat pups i think
.1 jcp feeding on small rat pups

I try and feed every friday although sometimes I feed my corns every 4-5 days.

Any help or info greatly helps!

    Thanks

    Adam

    Re: Adequate Rat group?

It's a pretty good rule of thumb to have one rat per snake, so looking for anywhere's between 8 - 9, depending on how many rats you want running around.

you need 2-4 pinkies a week, 2 med rats, 3 rat pups

i would say that you should have to plan 4 mature breeders so that you have atleast one litter per week. but then you gotta factor in how long it takes for your rats to grow to fit you feeding needs. don't quote me on this! but i say 2.4-8

plus if you have extra you could always freeeze them.

btw theier a sticky's on this topic
