    Humidity

I was wanting to hear how everyone sets up for humidity in their enclosures whether they be racks, tanks, what ever.

I use a large water dish, another plastic container with a wet sponge, and a spray bottle if it needs tweaked.

    Re: Humidity

In my 20L I have a large water dish, and when needed I spritz the glass instead of the substrate. Works like a charm. If it's really bad, I'll lay a t-shirt over the top of the tank.

    Re: Humidity

I have a 20 gallon tank. I cut pieces of plexi-glass for the top and pump in humid air with a Tropicaire humidifier ($20 at Petco). I use a small air pump (5 gallon size) so that it doesn't over-humidify. It's been the best investment I've made thus far. Temps and humidity are perfect. I never have to spritz or anything. Love it.

    Re: Humidity

Well, for my tank I have the top foil/tape treated, I use a wide water dish, and spray the inside glass if it needs a boost. Otherwise, just a nice misting when the cage is total-cleaned. For my tubs, I just mist when the substrate is replaced and it stays pretty stable. And when I get my big display cage working properly, I will be using a Tropicaire humidifier that someone here was nice enough to give me.

In general, ambient humidity (which is really low in CO during winter), the type of top you have, substrate, and width of water dish all have a big impact on enclosure humidity. Find the balance you need in your situation and it should all fall into place.
