Re: herpstat nd incubator and rack?

if youre using two different heating elements then probably not but if youre using 11" flexwatt to heat the incubator and on the hot side of the tubs, for example, then it may work. just make sure you disable the night drop feature and put the probe of the thermostat in the egg box so that the temp you set on the thermostat will be the temp that the eggs are exposed to. also make sure you monitor the temps of the flexwatt on the hot side of the tubs with digital thermometers so that you can make sure you dont get too much temperature variance by using the thermostat to heat the incubator and the rack.

i think i could be possible but i would rather get another thermostat.

If I remember correctly the ND has two separate probes and can control two different temperatures. If I remember that correctly then yes I think you should be able to.

Nevermind, it looks like it just has one output so then I would recommend just getting another thermostat.

Yeah sorry...one output. the way an incubator is heated and the way a rack is heated is different. if you adjust the temp for one or the other, the other will be way off.

I bought a Herpstat Pro, with 4 outputs... i loves it

Herpstat PRO?? Man you must be in the Money! I'll have to save up for months if not a year to afford the one with TWO separate outputs... Lucky you.

    Look at it this way:
1 Helix DBS1000 (one output): $134.99 (Reptile Basics)
1 Herpstat Pro (4 outputs): $315 (Bean Farm)

If I needed to control 4 different things (incubator, adult rack, sub adult rack, and baby rack), then I need 4 different controllers...at least, that's how i'd do it...

4 x 134.99 = $540 in Helix t-stats over Herpstat Pro's 315. It just made sense to me to spend a little more now rather than a lot more later..

and I'm far from "in the money"
