Apparently he was sick with pneumonia when he died today.

Re: Heath Ledger found dead in NYC
A doctor saved my life against my will one time. I cussed him out for doing it! At the time I had children that were small. In my mind I felt they would be better off without me. When I look back on that I realize how far from right I was. If I knew that doctor now I would thank him wholeheartedly. I got treatment and hung in there. I enjoy every day that I have with my kids and grandkids. Someone like that needs help, not pity or disgust.

Before everyone argues this, you might want to consider that, as far as I'm aware, there has been no official determination of cause of death. That means no legal determination that this man was an abuser of drugs (prescription or otherwise), no determination it was a suicide, no determination it was an accidental overdose or even a drug reaction. Until the ME says so, it's all purely speculation.
The stuff that goes on online when a famous person dies, simply astounds me.

I agree, the press is so quick to judge, they dont ever wait for official statements and such.

Half the people you know probably "have it coming", too. I don't even know who Keith Ledger is, but his death isn't a good thing, especially since he has children. Pretty cold dude.

What, is your regular playground not functioning, so you didn't know what to do with yourself other than get on a new site to try to stir some spit up? If you don't think this site's policies suit you, why spend your time here? Just sayin.

Re: Heath Ledger found dead in NYC
It's sounding more and more like an accidental overdose. He had complained in a couple interviews recently about not being to sleep well and needing to take a break from work. That and the fact he was suffering from pneumonia could mean a bad drug interaction or even that because he was sick, he didn't pay attention to just how many pills he had taken.

Re: Heath Ledger found dead in NYC
In reality; many fatal overdoses were not done by someone looking to kill themselves. They were results of the drug taker looking for a higher high; like someone drinking too much. True, some people purposely OD on a drug with intent to kill themselves. But I believe that most OD deaths are accidental. Add to all this, the feeling of disconnected senses and limited inhibitions experienced with many drugs.. it is not surprising that users OD and die. Sad, yes.. extremely sad that their families and friends have to live without them. And sad that the victim missed out on more years of healthy living that they could have had if they stayed off of the substances.

Re: Heath Ledger found dead in NYC
This is so sad! I have to say that the first thing I started to think about when I heard that there were sleeping pills found was wether it was intentional or not. I'd heard something about the sleeping pills he was on were habit forming, and if he was sick it could have been a combination of so many things that lead to an unintentional death. I was so shocked b/c you never hear a whole lot about him. Usually the actors/singers/whatnot that are doing drugs and intentionally trying to abuse them get caught or at least noticed. So many people see them every day it's not as easy for them to hid a drug habit as it is for someone that isn't being followed every day.
My thoughts and prayers are with his family. He didn't deserve to die so young, and I hope some of you guys will pause for a second before you post and have a little respect for the lost of a life. No one on here knows for sure if it was intentional or not, and I say give the guy the benefit of the doubt and respect the life that he was allowed to live.
