whats the normal size?
A few weeks ago me and a friend each got male ball pythons. I think they were born in august. Mine weights about 87 grams and his weighs 76 grams and are both about 18 inches long... is that normal size? also ive fed it twice(every 6 days) the first time mouse hopper and second time adult mouse... is that about the right size i should be feeding?
Thanks,
Hank

I'm a new owner, so here is just my 2 cents.
I not sure on size. But twice every 6 days seems like a lot.

For a growing baby? From what I've read and observed every 3 to 5 days is the norm when they're actually eating.

i was told once every 6-7 days. maybe my sources are wrong or maybe it depends on the size of the mice.

Could well be. Either way I'm sure someone with more information will weigh in on the subject.

Re: whats the normal size?
Mine is an Oct 07 baby and I just switched him from a 7 day feeding to a 5 day schedule since he was out and looking by day 5. He is eating a hopper mouse every 5 days. I posted a thread here and it was recommended that I try 5 day feedings until he reached 150 to 200 grams.
I'm not sure of his weight since I haven't picked up a scale yet. I try to shop when I don't have two kids attached to my leg. LOL.

Okay...
For babies, once every 5-6 days is fine. Not super huge meals, but fine.
For a newly hatched baby, that is an appropriate size for your snake.

Good job

I have a male Sept. 07 baby that is 22 inches and ~200g. I feed him one large mouse every 6-7 days. He seems to be doing great.

I think he means that he has only fed it twice, and each time at 6 day intervals
