Re: My Border Collie. Old timers beware!
I am trying to get my Ag teacher to let me release my lamb, and maybe my pig...lol...into the pasture and let him herd them around. I have trained him, with basic command, as well as some fun/serious ones. Never thought sic'em could work could you? My dad was a dog handler in the army, and helped me with protection techneques (well not really techneques..lol)for him. Hes a life saver! He drains plenty of energy, whether its playing by himself, or with me. We don't have the biggest back yard in the world, but deffanatly not the smallest. Plenty of room to run. You can make him work in a small back yard, but its like keeping a retic in a 41 qt tub...they out grow it fast.... I was going to stud him like his Dad, but we were worried about a skin problem that showed up, but after we switched his food, but we casterated him, and it still was present, we changed food, and now its gone..lol. So much for him passing down his traits...hehe. I deffanatly will be getting from the same familiy that his blood line came from when I have my own place...years and years down the road. Thanks! They are super dogs, but not for everyone, thats forsure. Like retics of the dog world..lol.
