I am retired from a gas utility and our meter readers knew that when a dog bit one of them (which happened pretty much weekly) The meter reader could file a lawsuit and automatically get a $3500 settlement from the homeowners insurance company without a fight. Most of them didn't sue but some of them always did. The homeowner then got a hefty insurance premium increase. I don't want to rain on your parade but your insurance company may refuse to insure you in the future or require that you get rid of your snakes if that was to happen. If you don't have insurance such a payment would come out of your pocket.Just be careful.

Very true and as a business owner I know all to well the risks. But the boy will not be with in arms length of any of my snakes...just the poop. I'm not worried about his safety but rather the safty of my animals. thanks for the heads up though

I think also that the parents should be very aware that ANY animal can bite. It's pretty ridiculous when we can't even let people in our own houses without worrying about getting sued because someone tripped on the rug.

I think that if anyone gets bit, they have to assume a responsibility towards knowing that there is a level of danger involved with working with or around any animal. To blatantly walk into any situation involving animals seems pretty nonsensical to believe that your always completely safe. It comes with the territory. :/

Shoot, I'd come help you clean up snake and rat poop just to come see your snakes, hehe...nothing can top cleaning up after a 12' burmese with a penchant for bunnies and his water bowl...
