    1st Time BP Breeder

This is my first year breeding BP's. Both of my babies are 1400+ grams. Due to me being in the south I have just now been able to cool them down at night.... I have a heat lamp on them during the day (for 10hrs) and it switches off at night. The room cools off at night to the high 60's.

What else do I NEED to be doing?

    Thanks for your help.

I'm in metro Atlanta, and I didn't cool at all this year. They're breeding fine.

I'm in Toledo, OH and I didn't bother to cool them either. They don't seem to care by what's going on in the BP room tonight.

I didnt cool either. The room changes enough for them to feel it.

The 60s are pretty low; too low. I have great success on getting lockups by not cooling my BPs at all. Too-cool temps can lead to respiratory problems and slowed digestion. I do think that the reduced daylight hours affect my snakes; that is the only environmental factor that changes for mine, and it works.
