Re: My BP and my dog bonding :D (DUW)
You have an adorable Bichon Frisé, and a really nice looking BP!
My folks have a Bichon Frisé, and I've babysat her a fews times, but I've never let her come near Salzedo when I'm handling him. I sincerely doubt she would make any violent move toward him, but I want to play it safe. Also, I don't think Salzedo would like a big (compared to him), predator-sized heat signature sniffing at him and tasting his snakey goodness. He is only a baby, barely 3 months old.
Still, they do look cute together. Picture #3 is cute beyond words!
As for the hand-washing thing; I keep Salzedos enclosure as clean as possible while checking the humidity several times per day. I keep a bottle of hand sanitizer by the enclosure to use after touching anything that has come in contact with my herps. I was lucky enough to find a dollar store that carries the same brand of hand sanitizer that they use in my local hospital. Yay!

My cats are nosey. (Whose cat's aren't?) And whatever I have in my hands they *need* to come up and see. It could be the remote and they still need to check it out. Well my one cat became very intested in my bp and attempted to take him out of my hands with her mouth. The way she'd pick up a toy or another kitten. Needless to say that meeting ended quick. I now take them into a sperate room or I stand when I am holding my bp and ignore the cats.
If i were to sit and hold Spot, the cat would be right by me. She'd purr, nuzzle. So I'd hold Spot in one hand and pet her with the other. I don't think there's anything wrong with letting an animal know another is near, a sniff or two, but if not to the point of annoyance, stalking, hunting, etc. Kinda like "Yeah you've seen it now move on." Just my .02. ^^

Letting the dog lick the snake probably isn't the worst thing in the world. As far as the dog hurting the snake... you know your dog better than we do, and I think it's important to know your animals well. I have two dogs and I know I'd never put something small and moving in front of one of them, but the other one is a different story. Just make sure you are paying very close attention to your pets when they are interacting.

although it may be dangerous for the bp , nobody can deny that it is adorable beyond words...i think it is awesome to let ur animals be aware of the presence of each other. wether they get along or not , just a sniff or two wont leave you with any surprises as to wether they dont like each other. I LOVE THE PICS

Hahaha My dogs name is Lilu (My sister picked it after the girl from the movie Fifth Element).
Actually I just realized that Lilu is also from that cartoon "lilu and stitch" (or was it Lilo?) Haha. I should've named my snake Stitch.

My dog is a very obedient and friendly dog. She's more scared of a vacuum than my snake haha. I've already seen enough to know that my dog doesn't see any hostility towards the snake. Even if the snake was to snap at her, she would just continue to try and lick him. If she gets tagged, she'll probably hide behind me haha.
