    Repti-Racks Feedback (broken)

I dont know how many people have gotten an enclosure from Repti-Racks in Texas but I did and I think it was a bad mistake!

I should actully be returning the piece of *beep* but I don't really wanna spend the money and find the time to lug the 70lb tank to the post office!

I got the GTP enclosure, which was 36x24x24. It came with the sliding glass doors and perches.

I got the enclosure together (after an hour of hard work) and realized the track that the glass runs along was broken. (not badly but kind of cracked in the corner) So I didn't worry about it because it didn't look too bad.
I then had a hard time getting one of the top corners to fit properly into the side corner so it left a little gap. But I figured it shouldn't have a horrible affect on the enclosure. (It's only like 2cm wide)

So once it was all put together I unwrapped the two sheets on glass and one of the corners of the glass broke off. (It was only a little piece so again I just "Oh well, it should still work fine.)

I then went to insert the glass into the track on the enclosure. The two glass pieces are maybe 2 inches two short. They don't even fit into the track at all. You can set them into the bottom track but they are at least an inch away from the top track, so the glass just falls out!

So I should be returning this junk because I have at least 2 piece broken on the enclosure, one piece of the glass broke off and the glass doesn't even fit into the track at all.

My quick fix for this is to build my own tracks for the glass to slide into and that should fix it. (but I suck a building things from scratch)

No word of a lie I paided over 300 dollars for the tank and shipping and it took them over two months to get the product to my front door! I don't drive so I can't really walk a 70lb package back to the post office PLUS I do not want to see how much Canada Post will charge me for that shipping.

Anyone have anything to say about Repti Racks? I did ask a few people before I got the enclosure and they said they weren't too bad! I don't blame all the broken parts in them because I'm sure the shippers (FEDEX) had something to do with it, but the glass not fitting into the tracks.

So All I have to say is I received HORRIBLE service from them and paid a ton of money for a piece of wood and glass that don't even work.

No I haven't and thats why I blame some of this on myself, but I know what they will say.
Pack it up and ship it back and they will replace it!

Well I just gave it a go.....
I can't call long distance at home so I did it from work because I can, but I don't know if I will get into trouble. We will find out later! lol

I called twice and no one answered so I left a message with my problem so hopefully he has some tips on how I can get the glass in without sending it back, but I will bet you 100 Canadian Dollars he will say send it back. I've spent hours trying to figure it out! It's impossible!

Since you seem relatively OK with some of the flaws and you don't want to ship it back, then the best you can hope for is that they will send you out new pieces. I gather you put it together yourself, so I'm assuming it came in pieces. If so could they ship you out the new pieces (the track and glass) ?? This way you don't have to lug the entire setup back to the postoffice.

Honestly, I didn't like their TOS. It was poorly written and seemed sketchy.

    Good luck.

    Re: Repti-Racks Feedback (broken)

Oh I would love to ship it back, but that would require more time then I'm willing to spend on disassemble, re-packing, and money!

Yeah I left my cell number with him so hopefully they will call back and we can talk about the options that I am left with. He might be able to help me over the phone. I could actually be doing something wrong. (like that has never happened before) lol
If he can't help, maybe your right and perhaps he would be kind enough to send me the broken parts and new glass. I'd even might gthink about sending just thoses broken parts back, as long as they paid for shipping buts thats stuff I'd have to work out with them!
    anyway thanks for your support!

I'm just so angry I've waited so long for such an expensive tank and it arrives broken. AH!

Wow ivy, your correct, they need a spell checker badly! Poorly written TOS, but unfortunately, I hope you did not fail to notify them in time, the TOS clearly states a time period to notify them of broken pieces after delivery so they can file a claim with Fedex.

I've considered ordering a cage or rack from this company since they are here in Texas, but after seeing one of their cages in person, I changed my mind... My biggest problem was that the sliding glass doors really were difficult to slide open. *shrug*

Jonny2184- I'm just wondering how your situation turned out. I had seen your thread after I had placed an order with Repti-racks for a cage. I received my cage yesterday and I find it to be very well constructed and I like it very much. It sounds like your problem was caused by the shipping company. I am just wondering if Repti-racks shipped you replacement parts for the parts that were damaged in transit.
