Water...what kind...lol
Ok...once again, another new guy question...
I have read now in a couple different places about what water to provide for snakes. Tap water, or bottled water. Tap water having chlorine (sp), and bottled being dechlorinated (sp)...which one is right or does it matter?
All these things keep popping up into my head...wish I could think of them all at once...could save everyone a lot of time! Thanks for the help tho!!

Re: Water...what kind...lol
Im not sure that it has much to do with it but my humidity stays up at about 60% now and has only got down to about 50% at one point. Not sure that "Velvet" would even consider soaking with the humidity where it is, however I have seen her drink...just not sure if the Tap water is ok or not now that I have found conflicting information about it...
Thanks for the reply!!

Re: Water...what kind...lol
As for the original question. I have well water. The snakes drink it, soak in it, and dump it over to mess up the cage.
My friends who have snakes have city water. The snakes drink that, soak in it, and dump it over in THEIR cages. The herp store locally, uses city water.
I've never seen anything to prove to me that typical water bothers any snake, no matter what type it is. You could give it purified evian if you want to. Some people will probably claim ONLY purified water, but IMHO, if it's pure enough for me, it's fine for the snakes.

Thanks for the reply! That is what I figure too, if it is safe for me it should be safe for my snake too. You just never know tho...
Thanks again!

My thought is that in the wild the snakes aren't taking a trip to the local walmart to get some purified water. I use regular Tap water and they are just fine. just my .02.

Re: Water...what kind...lol
Well, by that logic, the snake wouldn't be getting chlorinated water either. LOL.
But really.. snakes wouldn't drink bottled water... how would they get the top off?
