He might be a pastel. Do you have any pics of his head? Also what did you pay for him. Is there any way for you to weigh him? About breeding weights, I havent bred a male under 800g. Im not saying you shouldnt do it or it cant be done. I just havent tried. They can stop eating during breeding. If he is to small and he stops eating it could kill him. If hes to small and the female is much bigger then that can stress him out. Breeding can be alot of stress on the animals. Also what is the size of your female is she big enough and old enough. For me I wont breed a female under 2000g and 2 years of age. A male under 800. I would do the qt even if they came from the same place you never know. Also you need to give him time to settle in and all that. Time for him to get use to his new home.

Whats the hurry to get them breeding? Its better to have him healthy and settled in. Than to rush him and have him end up die. Or having something and passing it onto your female and you end up loosing both of them. There should be no reason to rush them.

I'd say you should really quarantine for at least 30 days... Is it worth the possibility of losing your female if he does have something?

Just from the picture of him in your hand. To me I would say its a bit small to try to breed. Alot of people on here will tell you he is big enough. Some people have bred males smaller than that or about that size. It has worked for some and not for others. Its really up to you I wouldnt breed him others might. It all comes down to what you want to do. Everything might be ok then it might not be. I bought one of these scales http://www.reptilebasics.com/My-Weig...l-p-16191.html
It has worked great for me. Also the guy shipped it out fast great place to buy from. I will buy from them again.

He might not have anything. You can always take him to a vet and have him checked out. The Qt is just to be safe. Just in case he does have something its better to keep him away from your other snakes. So they dont get it to. Ive never had a snake that I put in Qt that has ended up being sick. Its just to be safe. Since you got him from a petshop its a good thing to do. Where he came from, how the breeders that hatched him kept there animals. You never know someone could have came in the shop they have snakes, they have mites or something. They ask to check out the snake they pass it onto him. Yeah 50 sounds like a good price.
