    More insane weather!

Wow. I live in a 100+-year-old house. And the wind is so bad now, that the house is shaking! There is hail, rain, or some kind of precip slapping against the windows. And I have to play music constantly to drown out the constant howl of wind in the rafters! Being home alone in this weather, bites the big one. I am glad that my hubby will be home soon, and I have my gun in case there was ever a human intruder..
But it got me to thinking. What recourse, or real protection, do we have from dramatic, extreme weather? None. Sure, we can predict it, and stay in the house if it gets really bad. But we are powerless against it.
Weather, to me, seems like one of the last frontiers of human exploration. Imagine if we could control it!

    Re: More insane weather!

Well, the mister is on his way home. I am a bit leary about driving to work tomorrow, but I have a short day.
But wow! I am waiting for pieces of the abandoned barn to fall down. Last year, a huge section collapsed and it felt like an earthquake. Luckily it is not that close to the house.. but still it is nerve wracking. If I owned this land, it'd have been burnt down years ago. The fire department actually wanted to burn it down and use it for training purposes!
