RBI 2x4 Cage 12" High

hi, i've been trying to switch my boas/pythons from terrariums to racks/cages. i just ordered the CB-70 rack for my 3 ball pythons.. and now i'm looking to find some good, stackable cages for my RTB and my hog island boa.
i haven't gotten my CB-70 rack yet, but i really liked the service and prices at RBI so i would like to order from there again.. it looks like the 2x4 cage 12" high is the largest cage they have there..

would this be good for a full grown female RTB? on the care sheets it says that RTBs need a min. of a 6' long cage, but i've seen other people say that the cage just needs to be half the length of the snake.. and my snake is 5'8" (i have no idea what her age is, so i don't know how much larger she will get, right now shes in a 60gal long) i just want to make sure i buy her a cage that she will be comfortable in for the rest of her life.
would the RBI cage be okay? or is there another cage i should be looking at?

How long have you had her? Has she grown much in the time you've had her? This will give you a pretty good indication of age... if she's grown quite a bit in the time you've had her, then she's still fairly young and will probably grow more. If she hasn't grown much, she's probably an adult and will still continue to grow but very slowly.

On that note, a 5'8'' snake should be perfectly comfy in the 4' cage. 6' cages are normally used for larger, breeding females.

Just wanted to chime in and say I am happy with all my RBI products, and that I think it is pretty common to keep an adult boa in a 4x2x1 cage. If she turns out to be a monster as far as size, you might end up needing a larger one... but there are a couple different factors that come into play as far as what her length will be when fully grown.

i did a "pay to rescue" deal with her, i got her about 2 months ago.. she came to me with an RI and mites.. shes been on injected antibiotics for 2 weeks.. 2 more to go and is doing better, but has only eaten once for me because of her illness.. so she hasn't grown at all since i've had her. the people i got her from said shes about 5-6 years old, but they had only had her for 2 months before i took her.
if she does get larger will the 4' cage still work for her?

thanks a lot for that link.. i was doing some searching on the RTB forum to see what her potential size could be and thought i found some information saying that overfeeding would lead to a larger size, but that helps confirm it for me.
i don't know how much larger she could grow, they said she was 5-6 years old, but if need be, i will surely upgrade cage size.. i'll just need to find a good cage co. that sells larger cages!
i should do that anyways though, i was thinking of getting another RTB sometime next year so i guess is always good to have a backup plan if the snake gets huge

call rich up hes now got radiant heat panels and also could do an adoreal cage for you

Can I ask why he would need an arboreal cage? You can keep boas in an arboreal cage---they do enjoy climbing from time to time---but they need plenty of floor space, as well. Unless you're building one yourself that can provide both length and height, your best bet is sticking with a longer cage rather than a taller one.

A bigger cage is never a bad idea with adult boas. I would say a 4 footer would work just fine if she's already 5-6 years old, but if you want to stay on the safe side, a 6' will do you well indeed.

I agree with giving Rich a call... a stellar guy. You can tell him what you want, what you're thinking about in the future, and he can tell you what he can do.

your right i miss read the type of boa i was thinking etb id still call rich because i know they havent changed their site yet and he can build whatever you want
