Re: The official "What did you get for Christmas?" thread

Oh! And I stopped by Petsmart yesterday to get some aspen and see if they had any dumbo rats, as I've been keeping an eye out for some for Deborah, since she hasn't seen any near her. They didn't have any, but I happened to ask them about when they'd have some, and they said that they had a dumbo female in the back.

I asked why she was in the back, and they said because she bit an employee who was cleaning her enclosure and they couldn't sell a biter. I asked them what they planned to do with her, and they said they couldn't sell her, but could adopt her to someone willing to work with her.

I asked to see her and held her, and while very timid, she didn't attempt to bite me. I told them I'd love to adopt her from them and work with her. We had some handling time last night and she's starting to come to the front of her enclosure to greet me. She squeeks a lot when I hold her, but she's not showed any aggression.

She'll be joining Deborah in a few weeks to become a breeder for her, along with a 1.1 het pair of dumbos from my dumbo rat, Wisdom. So, she's kind of a Christmas present for Deborah! I've named her Jingles! LOL

I got some dvd's, clothes and candy. Got a remote controlled snake billed as a mamba It's pretty cool. Oh, did I mention the trip to NERD tomorrow to pick out a new western hognose?! My girlfriend is buying it for me, and she already gave me a new tub and UTH for the little guy. I've been wanting one for a while, so I can't wait

Re: The official "What did you get for Christmas?" thread

    For non-herp related I got:

$100 gift car to Simon malls
a new wallet(I really needed one!)
a bunch of candy I will never eat (My mom has not outgrown the fact that I am 22 and dont need stocking stuffers LOL and probably never will)

And for herp related I went house and spent a butt load. Check my signature for a list of snakes waiting for the cold front to pass through. I also am looking into building a rack set up for the new kids so everyone is warm and snug and I dont have to have a bunch of loose tubs with UTH's stacked on top of each other. My real present this year will be getting my het albinos to lock!

Yeah, we are going to zoo creatures. It's about an hour drive to get there, but well worth it. The only problem is that I can spend entirely too much time in there. If I only lived 20 min away from them I would be in big trouble

Re: The official "What did you get for Christmas?" thread

It was kind of a miserable christmas for me because I had to work at 8:30am, but overslept by an hour and a half and got an earful. I went home around 12 for a break and found my boyfriend waiting on the couch angry - he thought I was going with him to his parents' house but my work schedule didn't allow it. So we fought and cried and he left when I went back to work. I'm just now getting home.

My Christmas was basically last night which, thankfully, WAS enjoyable. I went to my cousin's house where all the family gathered for some finger foods and gift exchange. I got a new pair of pants and some money. Afterwards I went back to my dad's house and gave everyone their gifts from me - since I had to work today. I've spent the last few months making two scrapbooks for my dad. One is all of my baby stuff, and the other is my brother and sisters' who are twins. He loved it so much he cried. -lol-

Anyway, a very modest christmas - mostly just clothes for me. The best gift from my dad isn't here yet. He ordered me the VPI book online!! I can hardly wait. ^_^
