    I hate dishwashers

I finally decided that I was going to start using my dishwasher since I hate washing by hand. So I load up the dishwasher and put in the soap stuff. I close the door till I hear it lock shut and turn the dial and.....nothing. I hear no water running, no nothing. The dishwasher does nothing. I try all the settings it has, and nothing. There is no start button. The dial sits in the off setting until you put it to normal, rinse and hold, or light.

I tried looking up the model number on Whirlpool's website, but its as if it doesn't exist. The model number is DU3000XR-1. I don't have a phone right now and the apartment complex staff is off today for Christmas so at the moment, I have a dishwasher full of dishes and I can't use the dishwasher.

Any ideas? I can't move it so taking it out to check anything is not going to be possible. Washing by hand will take me forever.

    Re: I hate dishwashers

All I can say, is, I can relate to having a dishwasher full of dishes, but not being able to wash them..! We moved in here a few years ago and I was thrilled to have a DW. Well, we loaded it up.. put it on.. it made horrific sounds that I am sure would wake the dead. My hubby worked at an appliance store so he was able to get us a new one that some people were going to throw away as their "old one." It was from a new-build house and the people who moved in just didn't like it.

Here's a link to the owner's manual for your dishwasher. It's in pdf format.

Here is another link from the Maytag site's FAQ page about what to check if your dishwasher doesn't start.
