    Cleaning a you bath tub!!!

Hey everybody just had a question about cleaning your bath tub. I just used comet aka ajax to clean my bath tub. It was kinda dirty and I wanted a nice super clean enviroment for my snake to bath in. It is a bleach cleaner as you all know and I am letting the shower run for 30min to rinse it off completly. My question is would it be ok to put her in it after that or should I wait a day or so? She is having a hard time shedding and the herp person I talked to said to put her in warm water for about 30 minutes. I now not a lot of water just a 1/8 inch or so to soak in leaving the dry side as well so she can escape from the water if she wants to. Thanks

I would not take a chance. If you can find a small shoebox tote at your local walmart you can use it for a snake soaking tub .Just make sure you make a few small holes for air and do not fill up to high with water.Or you could just spray the enclosure a couple times while the snake is in the shed cycle. It helps as i do it when ever my snakes have this same problem

Thanks. Yeah I was really worried about the chemicals hurting him...really bad. I have a large rubber maid tank that I can put some water in for her to soak in. Also I just got her today and on the way home she was really active and loved being held. The temp in the car was 85 the whole way home and the humidity was around 51%(I had my thermometer with me....and let me tell you that was one warm a$$ car ride). Anyway I just set up her new tank and set her in the middle of it to see where she wanted to go and she has not moved at all for 2 hrs. Has not gone to her hide box or anything! Like I said she is having a hard time shedding and her eyes are have caps on them. Should I be worried that she has not moved at all in 2 hrs? Her cage temp right now is 83.1 and humidity is 51% I have been trying to mist the cage to get it up but don't want to soak it if you know what I mean. Anyway thanks for the advice.

Well your hotside temps need to be in the 92ish range .She might be freaked out by her new surroundinds so i would just place her inside one of the hides. Now you do know about the 1 week no handling rule until she gets used to her new home right?

In your other thread http://www.ball-pythons.net/forums/s...ad.php?t=57920 I gave you the links for shedding information so you understand the process plus a link to our sticky here for how to soak a snake properly. It's a very clear writeup and does include pictures. It would be far better to do it that way than put that snake in a bathtub.

Thank you all and yes I know the one week rule. As far as her being handled I was refering to the car ride home with no cage and the time while I was setting up her cage.
