    Re: Any suggestions?

No worries, my 06 YB is an :cens0r::cens0r::cens0r::cens0r::cens0r::cens0r: too It's really the only way to describe him. He eats with a vengeance and is almost 900g, but is still as hissy pissy as when I got him in February.

    Thumbs up Re: Any suggestions?

I would certainly try the dirty shirt method . Let one of your worn shirts sit for a few days in his tank, maybe a week so it gets used to your smell. Snakes are very good with sensing smells of different substances.
I have 2 bp . one of them never hises or tryes to byte or gets into a ball and doesn't care if being handled. On the other hand my other Bp is just too frail , always tries to hide and gets spooked very easy ,seems like it hates to be handled but it never bytes. I'm currently trying to get him more used to being handled without being spooked all the time . So I guess there are all types of snake personalities, but do not give up

ive heard that if you get a tough leather glove and wear it and just let the snake chew and bite and you dont react at all it will learn that it is no use to bite and will stop

    good luck

where does this info come from?
ball pythons don't just "chew and bite". they will strike for two reasons, fear and food.

    Re: Any suggestions?

I have a little nippy male myself, I asked this question as well on here. The best method is probably just to be calm and patient with the lil guy.

If he's really nippy, you could try putting gloves on as some other people had said on here. Continuing to be with him, holding him and such should calm him down and let him get used to you. I know my ball was extremely nippy when I first got him. He's gotten noticeably better with handling, though he still thinks I want to eat him or something It'll get better. Small handling periods frequently should make him feel more secure. Hope this helped a little bit!

(Another thing that I was told, which makes a lot of sense to me, is to leave a shirt that you've worn for a day by their cage. It could help them get used to your scent as well)
