fluid?
Just a quick question. I've noticed in my blood python towards the rear end of him. That if he moves his tail or I move it while holding him
I can hear and feel what sounds like water shifting around in there. He just peed the other day too. I've noticed it a few times. And was always curious what it is. And if its normal.
2200+ grams. Eats weekly. Pees. No urates or poop for coming up on 4 months.
I can also feel what feels like a urate inside him by his clocoa (sp). Any input is appreciated!!!

Re: fluid?
someone on here was talking about their blood taking a monster dookie after not pooping for awhile cause of a urate drying up and blocking the cloaca. Prolly a little contipated. The water sound is prolly water/pee in his belly or bladder. Like you know when you drink a lot of fluids you can hear it sloshing in ur belly.

Hmm. Strangeness. I know bloods can drink a lot of water. Maybe you picked him up right after he drank and you heard it sloshing around? Maybe Kara will drop by

Re: fluid?
Yeah I've seen those threads. Seems like the snakes were put to the point of trying to defend themselves. I'd rather not do that.
Where's kara? Maybe she has some insight.
I guess it wouldn't bother me as much if it hadn't been 4 months since his last b/m.

That Vet visit I told you guys about...there was the poo, urates, and liquid. My guy was spraying.
It was a hell of a sight, but yeah expect plenty of fluid. When yours finally goes it will be flowing.

Re: fluid?
I've noticed that when my babes start to soak everyday, they are going to poop soon. I know that onyx was soaking everyday for hours and one day he let one out nearly as big as him. Jade was soaking pretty on and off agian until just a few weeks ago she was in nearly everyday, then she too let out a nice size turd only 2 1/2 months since her last poo. Since then, I haven't caught her soaking yet.
Is this a connection? Maybe give him something to soak in and see if he takes advantage of it.

Re: fluid?
Oh his water bowl is plenty big enough for him to soak in. I've let him soak a few times a rubbermaid tub. Maybe to help him on him way.
Nothing yet. I guess he'll go when he needs to. Ill keep an eye on him and see if he starts soaking. Perhaps there is a connection??
